This story is about Early Emergency and Code red alert (Both were emergencies, and both gendered in the first hours after hatching.)
After what happened with Unfortunate, Mystic had thrown the knife into a tree which was already dead and left it there. She wasn't going to be the reason for another death.
But it did look bad. The places she went for help were closed, except for one, for eggs that look in a bad position (eggs under three days).
She put them in there, and other kind people helped coax them, like the other "emergencies" out of their eggs or to adulthood.
They hatched, just like all her other eggs, and that's where the real story starts...
Unfortunate swished his tail, glaring at the hatchlings, which were still sleeping when they came out of their eggs. What made them so special, that they got to live but not him?
He tried to think the answer as his tail swished.
They got wings rather quickly in front of his own eyes while he did.
Getting more and more care, Unfortunate started to think that the only reason was the time he was "In the danger zone", or that he's just plain "Unfortunate" which would make his name, Unfortunate waking dead, make sense.
He was envy of them...That is, until he heard the rasping voice that should've been gone in his ear.
The only difference between them, and you, is they will be dead in adulthood...If they even make it that far
Terror shot through him. Although envy of them, he didn't want them dead. Somewhere, inside of him, there was still enough of him left to care.
Both of the males came up to him, and looked up at him, wondering what was wrong.
He played with them, pretending nothing was wrong, and they laughed and giggled, happy he seemed fine.
Only Little Merigold knew otherwise. Only her.
After Unfortunate was done "Being silly" as he called it, and the hatchlings left. He went on his business...When he was tackled!
He tried to get the dragon off, but this one was much too strong for it.
He looked at the vines, and looked up.
"You know, you don't have to tackle me to catch up." Unfortunate said.
"Yeah, you're right there. Is there something wrong?" Little Merigold asked.
"...No, nothing wrong at all." Unfortunate said.
"...Liar. You wouldn't have had that look of Terror earlier if that was the case. What's wrong?" Little Merigold said.
Avoiding the question, Unfortunate asked "You saw that?!"
"Yes. Now what sent that look on your face?" Little Merigold asked, making it obvious she wasn't going to drop it.
"You wouldn't believe me if I told you." Unfortunate said.
"Try me." Little Merigold said, and Unfortunate almost let a smile cross his mouth, but held that in at the thought.
He explained it, and Little Merigold was wide eyed.
"Not only has it come back if your correct, but he's after the hatchlings as well." Little Merigold said, worried.
"I know." Unfortunate said.
Little Merigold got off of him. "And the only way to save them is to destroy him somehow."
"Yeah. One problem. How is that going to happen?" Unfortunate asked.
"...I don't know. But I, if not you, or anyone else, have to come up with a plan. And fast." Little Merigold said, then ran. The others will probably ask her what's wrong as it's hard for her to hide it.
He got back, and the red dragon were pacing back and forth. Something was troubling them, and he ran past Little Merigold, so she couldn't have told them yet.
"What's wrong?" Unfortunate asked.
"You wouldn't--"
"Try me." Unfortunate said.
"Alright, then. To put it in a short, believe able way, both of the hatchlings are missing."
Unfortunate got that wave of terror back.
"and what more, something with your exact...Strange qualities, except larger and without guilt, was what taken them."
"It's him." He said under his breath.
"What?" The only savior asked.
"It's him. The undead that made me have the same fate." Unfortunate growled. "what way did he go, if he didn't disappear?"
"He did disappear." Queen of green fire or whatever her name was said.
"Oh, that's just peachy." Unfortunate growled.
"Wait a second...Don't you have that same power? And, since the hatchlings were the two last hatchlings you probably saw, couldn't you just 'teleport' to them like he did?" She asked.
Unfortunates eyes lit up. There was a bright idea. Now if only he knew how.
Unfortunate cleared his mind and tried to think of the hatchlings.
And then he was gone.
When he opened his eyes, he found he was right next to the hatchlings, who were unconscious, sitting down. He stood up, and looked in front of him, then froze.
There, in front of him, was the scariest dragon he'd ever laid eyes on. He had seen every type of dragon known of, too, and none even came close. And this dragon was at least 3 times taller than him. And, over the year, he had gotten taller than most of the dragons Mystic owned.
There was a male and female Vampire by the scary dragons side, glaring into Unfortunates eyes, though he was too busy to notice the dagger eyes.
The neglected dragons were on the other side of him, except they were clearly stronger than others of their kind, being as strong as a pink. While it wasn't much, it was an improvement of being able to be beat up by one without it breaking sweat.
The mindless Zombies jumped in front of the scary one, their beady eyes red instead of black, indicating they are being controlled.
He was clearly outnumbered, but he'd been that way before against the almost same crowd and did just fine. And that's without powers.
"Your thoughts are amusing in times like these. No, my friends here aren't subject to fighting you. You're much to strong to deal with the underlings."
The vampires looked as if offended, but seemed to understand.
"Why are they here, then?" He asked.
"I thought you were going to bring other friends of yours, like the one with the glowing vines or something like that. Apparently not." He said, grinning a grin that made him shiver.
"So the deal is?" Unfortunate asked.
"Simple. A one on one fight in an area I chose. If you win, these two hatchlings don't have to worry about me again, and nether will you. I might even be able to undo the damage done so many years ago to you, if I end up surviving and still losing."
"And if I lose?" Unfortunate asked when he didn't continue.
"Those hatchlings are dead if you lose. Along with a little surprise I can't really say."
Unfortunate:...Fine.
Then he was gone again.
When he woke up again, the scary dragon was more apparent now, and so was the surroundings.
Where they were...Was in his head.
He looked around, unsure of how to react to this. "Can you see why I chose this place?" He asked.
He nodded.
"Good." He said.
Unfortunate did a quick glance around, a plan coming quick. While that was happening, he jumped over to the left, quickly dodging an incoming bubble with some evil memory thing inside.
Then he got attacked from behind, but it was only that dragon, and he quickly attacked back in response.
"I admit, you're quite good for a hatchling, indeed. But not that great at fighting."
Unfortunate got under him, then jumped up, and flipped as to claw his stomach hard.
The scary dragon held any reaction in, and looked at both sides. There was something coming both ways...
Unfortunate got his claws out, and tried to get away from the evil bubbles of doom. Unfortunately for him, the scary dragon caught what he was doing and pinned Unfortunate down until he was hit with both. While one was the feeling of his life slowly being drained, the other...That was not his bad memory... But it seemed like it could belong to the scary dragon, as it did happen when the innocent little normal Black dragon, haunted by the strange, still scary voice.
Unfortunate got an idea, while watching this memory. Maybe...
He thought about that form, the thing that he had pictured in his mind when the black dragon thought he saw.
He felt something rather...Painful, though. And felt the dragon get off of him, though, when he opened his eyes, it took what felt like a while before he could see again. And when he did...
He looked down at the puny dragon that was able to keep him down before. The tiny one that used to be scary backed up in horror...Right into his doom.
Unfortunate woke up again. He was back in his normal form. The others were gone, but the hatchlings were awake.
The now not as scary guy seemed...Stuck. In his memories? In the Battlefield? He didn't know, nor care. It was time to get these hatchlings back home.
And so they went home, and Unfortunate wasn't so Unfortunate...Until the next Unfortunate event. ;D
The end.
