Usually, I wouldn't make a story on how I got an egg, but holiday eggs that almost make me cry can be an exception. This story includes what dangers the egg goes though, and what Mystic did.
Many people were just searching for eggs everywhere. The Yulebucks, who all died out in 2009, were now able to breed, but only for a few days. Those not knowing of dragons before 2009 raced to grab the Yulebucks as well.
Mystic tried and tried along with them, but she had given up. 50 silvers, 1 gold, 100 cheese, and 3,000 Yulebucks it felt like (though it was only 18. Honest) had gotten into another dragon owners hands, and she had given up, knowing she couldn't compete.
A dragon in human form, wearing all black, with black hair and brown, almost black eyes, was sleeping under a tree when a Yulebuck, unattended, rolled to him, away from the madness.
He woke up, and picked it up. He examined it, wondering what it could possibly be. Maybe if he found a skilled dragon owner, he could find out. He didn't know how to raise a dragon egg. His breed didn't breed, so none of them were the motherly fatherly type.
He turned to the direction of a sad human and a trusty vine dragon.
I think I recognize that vine dragon... He thought.
"There is always next year." Little Merigold told Mystic, trying to comfort her.
"Nice try, but even if I get a Yulebuck next year, I doubt I'll be able to get another silver, or a gold that isn't both inbred and moody." Mystic said sadly.
Little Merigold couldn't argue with that.
"Um...Miss?"
They turned, and saw a guy in all black, with short, dagger like hair, with his eyes covered and carrying a Yulebuck.
"Think you could take care of this egg? I would if I could, but I keep failing at it." He asked Mystic.
"I would love to." Mystic said, brightening up as he passed the egg to her.
Then he left. He seemed to disappear as darkness came around him.
"Wow. That was both lucky and strange." Mystic said.
"Yeah." Little Merigold said.
The egg was brought home. Many of the dragons looked at it with wonder, but kept their distance, like they did with Golden Hope and Dream. They didn't want to possibly hurt it.
Little Merigold lightly took care of it in her vines.
Mystic went back on her way to egg hunting. She could still grab a silver, or cheese while people where trying to get Yulebucks.
Then...
She got ambushed!
"Give us the Yulebuck, and nobody gets hurt."One of them said.
"I don't have one on me!" Mystic said, and it was the truth.
She left it back at home, and wouldn't give it to them anyway.
"Oh come on guys. The abandoned egg cave is stocked with them. You don't need to go to jail, or hurt anyone or steal someone elses Yulebuck to get one." A stranger, with red hair, silver highlights, golden colored eyes wearing a green dress with matching high heels said.
Without a word, they rushed to the Abandoned egg cave.
"Thank you for saving me." Mystic said.
"Don't mention it." She said.
Then, after helping her up, she walked away after saying goodbye. She didn't disappear like the guy that gave her the Yulebuck at home did, but seemed to gain more of a rainbow glow as she left.
Then she got to the Abandoned egg cave, hiding. It was absolutely empty, and it was far from pretty. People seemed to be lying on the ground dead everywhere. The guys weren't there--so they must have either gotten a Yulebuck or went home disappointed.
A little boy was looking at a older looking girl, who seemed dead.
She went closer, and asked him about it.
"She's my older sister. You just missed the worst scene you'd ever see, and I wish I did too. People were monsters over the eggs here. All Yulebucks and Hollys, people were practically killing each other over them." The boy said.
"Ouch." Mystic said.
"And when everybody left, my sister looked the way she does now. I tried to call the ambulance, but every single one is busy with people being killed because Gangs want their Yulebuck." He said sadly.
"This doesn't sound like Christmas at all." Mystic said.
"It isn't. It's way worse." He sighed, even more sad.
Mystic picked his sister up, and told him "I'll take her to the hospital for you."
"Thank you so much!" He said, brightening up and hugging Mystic before she left.
She got to the hospital, and it was packed. Saying the info on all the people there probably wouldn't be age appropriate.
She went up to the front desk and asked how long of a wait should she expect.
"Matters on...What happened... Is that girl your holding the one that needs the help?"
"Yes. Her brother tried to call the ambulances, but apparently they were all busy." Mystic said.
"Right this way Miss." She said.
Once she was led to the room, the person leading her yelled to two employees "You're fired!"
"When that call came, there was no Ambulance truck available!" One called.
"That isn't an excuse. Unless you became a no legged person, which you didn't, you could've run there! And, on days like this, we expect you too!" She yelled back, in a voice that could make everybody scared.
She sat his sister down on the bed, and doctors went to her right away.
The brother ran here, tired. The girl who yelled earlier asked if his older sister was brought here by Mystic because the Ambulances were "busy" (though he was told the truth that, they were, but the guys still could've ran to pick her up, so they got fired.)
"Yes." He said.
He got lead to where she was.
He overheard the words "If her heartbeat continues getting slower, I'm guessing that her brothers going to have a horrible Christmas."
His steps slowed. He willed himself into the room and asked what he already knew. "Does it look like she will survive?" He asked.
They shook their heads, sadly.
His head fell, spirits fell. He went to his sister, just whispering in her "Please hold on."
I would if I could. She thought. She couldn't move or open her eyes, and could barely think that.
They left. Just waiting outside. Mystic tried to cheer him up, but couldn't. The best she could do was put a towel on her lap before letting him cry on it. It saddened her, too. This 8 year old boy having a very close family member die so close to Christmas was just sad and sickening.
All the doctors but one had to go to different rooms to work on the other patents.
He was too busy silently crying and sniffling to notice.
Mystic turned, and saw that one doctor turn into a Red, white and green dragon. It wasn't a Christmas dragon, though. They didn't have human forms.
Then, a hoof was put lightly where his sisters heart was, and the hoof glowed.
Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep.
Her heartbeat got faster until it was at a healthy tempo. Then he took his hoof off, and turned back to his human form, still looking like a doctor.
She woke up, but couldn't move still.
Mystic: I think a miracle happened.
The boy got up from her lap, wiped his tears, and looked. He brightened up when he saw his sister was awake, when he heard the Machine telling her heart tempo going a normal rate for living.
He hugged the doctor, and couldn't thank him enough.
"It's my pleasure. Hopefully she doesn't get in anymore accidents." The doctor said.
Then he hugged his sister, gently, and whispered a thank you for holding on.
Mystic wiped a tear. It was such a beautiful scene to see.
Then he came out and hugged Mystic, thanking her as much as he could in three seconds.
Then she left after saying it was the right thing to do to the boy, and after both of them saying goodbye to each other, not able to get everything that happened today out of her mind.
*next day.*
On the news, the reporter told that many people died yesterday, because many (over thousands, people guessed) people ran over them on their way to get Yulebucks, Hollies, and the new species of Christmas eggs.
"Hopefully you didn't see that scene." Little Merigold said, protecting the egg.
"I didn't. I did save somebody and another persons Christmas yesterday though." Mystic said.
Little Merigold smiled, but didn't ask.
"Please tell me I'm dreaming about the day. So close to Christmas, Monday, December 21. So far, the killing is at an all time high of 19,926 people--"
Magi Guard spit out what he was drinking (water) at that. Everybody else was just plain shocked.
"And that total is only how many people died because they got run over by people. 20,768 people lost their lives to car accidents, 90,654 people who owned Yulebucks, Hollies and the new eggs lost their lives to gangs who wanted their eggs, and 1,000 people got bitten. Yes, vampires are also joining the 'fun' of Christmas, actually trying to turn people into Vampires. They all died. So, with a total of 132,348 that died yesterday, that's a wrap." The reporter said.
Everybody in the house was silent. Mystic turned off the TV.
Little Merigold (thinking): Looks like I failed to do my job...
She tried to make it so at least the vampire related deaths wouldn't happen, and they happened, so she failed. At least, to herself she did.
It was just saddening.
"Guys! What was that?!" The vampire king asked his subjects, outraged that they tried to turn humans into vampires, and possibly sending the wrong message to the dragon with Ancient Light, her name not mentioned anymore due to fear...Again.
"Um...Uh... I don't know." One of them, not really active in it, said.
"Exactly!" He said. The gates turned into a wall they couldn't break after he sent a message to the gates guards to head in.
"Until the Fiasco is over, nobody is allowed off castle grounds." He said, glaring at them until they nodded, saying they understood, then calmed down and went back to his headquarters.
(In other dragons headquarters)
"This is out of control." The shadow dragon said.
"What are we supposed to do out to stop it? Reveal our forms, eat the gangs, and take away all the Yulebucks, Hollies and new Christmas eggs?" The silver gold dragon asked.
"No. Me, I have to try to do my job the best I can without revealing my form unless nobodies looking. Should be easy enough, since all the other doctors, until something is done, will still be busy." The Christmas dragon, Yulebuck, and white dragon ancestor (same person) said.
"I got an idea." The light blue dragon, the Skywing ancestor, said.
"What is it?" The shadow dragon asked.
"How about we team up and take care of this mess? Yani could give Hollies, and Yulebucks to those that don't have one, and possibly new Christmas eggs if it trouble hasn't died down by the time she's done with that, you can take care of the gangs Shadow, and I could save people about to get run over. If it works, we'll be the ones who saved Christmas. Think it'll work?" Xin, the light blue dragon, asked.
"Well... I like your idea. I get to kick stupid peoples butts, so I'm happy." Shadow, the Shadow dragon (obviously), said.
"I think this is a great idea. Whether it'll work or not, it'll definitely save some lives." Yani said.
"Alright then. We better get started." Xin said, then flew down to the ground, turned into human form when nobody was looking, and went to do her thing. Same with the others.
"Give us the Holly egg, and nobody gets hurt." A gang, surrounding many people with Holly eggs, said, pointing a gun at almost everybody.
Shadow blew hard on the guns, making them fall and break.
They looked up, and the sneaky ones got away.
The not sneaky ones got caught.
He did a sneak attack on those that caught them, making them let go and the gang members turn to see the attacker, but only seeing nothing.
The police got there and arrested all the gang members, not seeing Shadow.
And he continued on with that, not even getting seen by the gangs due to being able to blend into the shadows.
Getting all the eggs rolling down to doom, those not Hollies or Yulebucks she gently put in the Abandoned egg cave, hopefully to not get smashed, then passed the eggs to those she sensed wanted a Yulebuck and Holly and didn't have one that could take care of it, exception being they don't mind help. The inexperienced ones that weren't accepting help were going to have to wait.
And nobody, thankfully, saw her do this. Or, at least, no human did.
At the Abandoned Egg Cave, people were still being monsters because they haven't figured it out. Rares and unbreedables were the best they were going to get.
It seemed as if invisible air was saving those that were going to be dead otherwise, pulling them out of the way of the monsters that pretended to be dragon owners. It seemed like they had been corrupted, but this was normal...Kind of.
Once the Abandoned egg cave was quiet and everybody seemed to get it, they left.
*Once the egg hatches.*
A young Yulebuck, after a while, slowly gets out from the egg. Everyone noticed he (they assumed he was a boy) seemed to be sick. So a fog spell was put around him, so he could get better.
When the news got on, Mystic came in the living room to watch. The Yulebuck slowly followed, a bunch of fog also following.
"It seems as we have some heroes around, lowering the kill rate. Since they haven't shown themselves yet, I can't say who they are. Anyway, since most who called in yesterday want to know the number of people killed today, the answer is 19,000 people exactly. Only 1 fiftieth of the people in danger of being killed." She said. "That's all for todays news."
Mystic was about to turn it off when the Yulebuck said "Shadow."
It went to commercials. The peoples shadows were clearly visible.
"Yep." Mystic said, then turned it off.
The Yulebuck turned it back on.
Mystic just let it be.
Yulebuck: Shadow.
Mystic looked at the TV. There the guy that gave her the Yulebuck was, in all black, outsmarting the gangs and going into the shadows of the buildings as they turned to see him.
She didn't, for one second, think that the guys name was Shadow.
The news person just watched, wanting to know who he was. But by the time he was done with knocking them out, he vanished and the police came.
"They are messing with my plan!" The person behind all the madness said.
"Well, how do we stop them? Hold someone they hold dear captive? Kill them?" The persons assistant, made out of crystals and brought alive by necromeracy, asked.
"Hm... I have a better idea. Shadow's a vital part of their plan, because when Yanichel gives them a holly and yulebuck, and Xin Qian saves those that'd die in the AEC (abandoned egg cave), they become or are in danger of gangs, which he's sending to prison too quickly for my tastes." He said.
"Capture him, then, sir?" The assistant asked.
"Yes. The sooner, the better." He said.
Terra, the name she usually goes by when others, other than her master are around, found where Shadow lived, somehow, and managed to get in. She hid before she could be seen.
Shadow came home, exhausted.
She moved quietly toward him, still being unseen.
The hairs on his neck started to rise. He knew someone must be behind him, probably ready to strike.
He got down just when he was sure the person was off the ground. His hunch showed him correct as what he would call a Crystal person fell on the table in front of the couch, breaking it.
Everything (for him) was going in slow motion. His brain was able to tell him what was happening and have him respond, just in time to escape her grasp, ending up breaking the couch all within one third of a second.
His mind continued moving at this fast pace, him dodging every move she made toward him.
Her brain, though, soon was moving faster than his when frustration came.
Instead of coming at him, she started to shoot crystals at him!
He managed to dodge the ones that would hurt, but enough had managed to hit him so he became stuck to the wall.
She knocked him out, then, after getting rid of the crystals (and his shirt, because the crystals were stuck to it. -_-...) he was taken to her master. He may have fooled her into thinking he could only think fast and be faster, but her master had been watching him for longer than he knew, so he knew Shadow could turn into a shadow, and a dragon. Just not when he's overly tired.
When he woke up, he found his shirt was off, his hands were tied behind his back, and he could tell his powers weren't usable as long as that rope was tied. Oh, and he was stuck on a bed, too, due to a strong glass wall surrounding the bed he was on.
Shadow looked around. Crystal (he decided to shorten her name to that) was the only one around, obviously tired out and is fast asleep.
He had a feeling she wasn't the one who tied his hands up (otherwise the rope would be crystals) but knew he didn't have time to worry about who did that, just how to get the rope off and get out.
Xin, seeing the night was silent, now that more people had Yulebucks and that was all that was appearing in the AP before, and most had given up on Hollies, she went to check if Shadow was okay.
When she got to his house, she saw his house was a big mess. The couch was ripped up, the table was broken, the stairs were no more, the floor above had fallen it seemed, and a shirt was hanging on the wall.
She went closer to the shirt, and saw tiny crystals were keeping the shirt there.
There was definitely a struggle. Poor Shadow. Now where did the captor take him? Xin thought.
The Yulebuck, who had gotten his wings along with Mystical Winter Wonder, and the Yulebuck felt something was wrong...Seriously wrong.
He knew it was up to him to find out what and fix it.
So, while Mystic was still sleeping, he headed out to where instinct told him to go.
Soon, he reached a place that seemed unfamiliar, but it didn't matter now.
He went in, using the walls shadows as a hiding spot as he moved from place to place in the dreary place.
Soon, he got to the heart of the building...Where they were keeping shadow captive.
So this is the case. Now how do I get him out of here? He thought to himself.
Shadow (He knew that was his name, and he tried to tell his owner that but failed.) tried to get out of the ties on his hands, but couldn't.
Crystal lady: How many times do I have to say that it's useless?
Shadow: I don't care what you say. Sooner or later, I will get out of here.
Crystal lady: You're right. When I let you go. Today isn't the day for that, however.
Shadow stayed silent, but he could tell he knew it wasn't going to be that day for a long time.
She left then, giving one last look before getting out of the room.
His plan went into action.
Shadow looked at him like he'd never seen a Yulebuck before, but he ignored that.
Soon, he was on the bed next to him, undoing the ties, when a very scary person came in.
"Looks like you've got a friend, don't you?" He asked.
When he reached for the Yulebuck, Shadow kicked the scary dude.
The knots were undone then, and he got up with the Yulebuck on his back, and kicked the scary dude, and the glass he also kicked, to the other end of the room, and got out of there as fast as he could.
He thanked the Yulebuck, then...Well, he went home, and, soon, by the time Christmas was here, everything was okay.
The end.
Many people were just searching for eggs everywhere. The Yulebucks, who all died out in 2009, were now able to breed, but only for a few days. Those not knowing of dragons before 2009 raced to grab the Yulebucks as well.

The end.
